COAST MODERNISM
A term coined by the artist Scott Penegar,
Coast Modernism refers to a style of painting that merges abstraction and impressionism while using the familiar viewpoints of the coastal environments. Scott takes marshes, beaches, sunsets, boats, etc, and treats them with a completely new and varied approach. The colors, shapes, and brushstrokes give the viewer a sense of energy, passion, and emotion, which breath new life into the themes so commonly painted.
